obtained a PhD in Applied Statistics from the University of Florence in 1995. Since 1995 she has been a researcher; currently, she is Associate Professor at the University of Florence, Department of Statistics, Computer Science, Applications "G.Parenti". She has been a member of the Italian Statistical Society (SIS) since 1996 and a member of the European Network for Business and Industrial Statistics (ENBIS) since 2002. She has been an IEEE member since 2012. Her current research interests include design of experiments, response surface methodology, process robust optimization, optimal experimental designs, consumers’ behavior and multi-attribute valuation methods. Member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Scientific Society of Mechanical Design and Machine Construction. (AIAS). Visiting Professor (1998) and Guest Researcher (2000) at MIT in Boston, USA. Author of about 140 publications and 12 books, including Leading processes to lead companies: Lean Six Sigma (~25% in the relevant Springer eBook Collection in 2015" and Lean Six Sigma in Health, presented on 25 October 2012 in the presence of the Minister of Health. Research topics: Design for Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma 4.0, Axiomatic Design, Design of Experiments. In 1996 he implemented the first Six Sigma program in Italy (General Electric) and developed it in Europe, North America, South America and Asia for many companies including Leonardo, FCA, Ferrari, Piaggio, Nestlè, Technogym, Poste Italiane, J&J. He also gave a speech on the subject in Africa and Australia.
